Curriculum for Tajdid's Sunnah Institute Cerificate Program

 

 

1st Year studies

 

Islamic Studies 100

• Aqeedah (belief/emaan)

• Fiqh al Ebaadah(jurisprudence of worship) conditions of the prayer, fasting, zakat and hajj

• Tassawuf/tazkiyyatu an nafs(purification of the soul)

All three subjects will be primarily taught from “Umdat al Bayaan”

No prerequisites needed

 

Arabic Studies

• Arabic 100 (Beginners Arabic this course is designed to familiarize the student with enough knowledge to able to read, write and recognize the arabic alphabet)

• Arabic 101 Tajweed (Phonetics this course is designed to enable one to read and recite quran properly)

• Arabic102 Sarf (morphology this course is designed to enable the student with the ability to recognize and conjugate arabic words)

• Arabic 110 Hewar ( speech and composition this course enable the student with working knowledge of Arabic read and conversation while building ones vocabulary.) prerequisites completion of Arab100

 

Hadith Studies

 

• Memorization of Hadith ( student will be responsible for memorizing 20 to 40 hadith)

 

Quranic Studies

 

• Memorization of Quran 100 (student will be responsible for memorizing at least a hizb of last 30th of the Quran from surah `Alaa until surah an Nas) prerequisites completion of Arab 100 &101

• Quranic Vocabulary 101 ( student will be responsible for memorizing and learn the Quran’s most frequently used vocabulary)

 

Seerah

 

• Seerah100 Ta`aleem an Naam ( this course is designed to familiarize the student with Allah estimation of the Prophet sallahu alayhi wa salam) no prerequisites required

• Seerah 101 Seeratu Nabee ( This course is an detailed study of life of Rasullah)

prerequisites completion of seerah 100

 

 

 

2nd Year Studies

 

Islamic Studies 202

 

• Aqeedah( beliefs/emaan)

• Fiqh al Ebaadah (jurisprudence of worship)

Prerequisites completion of Islamic Studies 100

 

All three subjects will be primarily taught from “Umdat al Muta`abideen”

(Memorization of the text is expected)

 

 

 

Fiqh (Islamic Law) Studies 202

 

• 1st Module: Miraat al Tulaab of Shehu Uthman Dan Fodiyo

 

Arabic Studies

 

• Arabic 200 (this course is designed to take the student into the grammatical study of the Arabic language) prerequisites completion of Arab 100 & 102

• Arabic 201 (this course is designed to take the student into the grammatical study of the Arabic language) prerequisites completion of Arab 200

• Arabic 202 ( speech and composition this course enable the student with working knowledge of Arabic read and conversation while building ones vocabulary.) prerequisites completion of Arab 110

 

Both subjects Arabic 200 & 201 will be primarily taught from “Arabic Tutor volumes 1 & 2.

 

Quranic Studies

 

• Memorization of Quran 102 (student will be responsible for memorizing from surah Ghashiyyah to surah Mulk)  prerequisites completion of memorization 100

• Quranic Vocabulary 102 ( student will be responsible for memorizing and learn the Quran’s most frequently used vocabulary) prerequisites completion of Quranic vocab. 100

 

 

 

 

Hadith Studies

 

• Memorization of Hadiths

• Hadith terminology (students will begin to learn the fundamental terms when dealing with the science of hadith.)

• Fiqh of Hadith ( this will familiarize the student with the study of  foundational hadiths and the rules derived from them)

 

Texts that will be used for this portion of study al Bayquniyyah, Sawq al Ummah ibtiba as sunnah and al Muwaata of Imam Malik

 

Seerah

• Seerah 200 Seeratu Nabee (This course is an detailed study of life of Rasullah) prerequisites completion of seerah 101

 

 

 

 

3rd Year Studies

 

 

 

Islamic Studies 300

 

• Al Mandub (this course is designed to make the student familiar with the actions that are recommended from the salah,fasting,sadaqah, tilawah al Quran, and adhkar. ) This will be taught from Umdat al Ubaad prerequisites completion of Islamic studies 202

• Az zawaaj ( this course is designed to familiarize the student with the rules pertaining to marriage and divorce) prerequisites completion of Islamic studies 202

 

Fiqh (Islamic Law) Studies 301

 

• 2nd Module: Miraat al Tulaab of Shehu Uthman Dan Fodiyo  prequisites completion of fiqh 202

 

 

 

Tajdid's Sunnah Institute " Dars Al Ibtida " Beginners Curriculum

• Creed/aqeedah

Usool ud Deen and/or kifaayat al mutahidah by shaykh Uthman Ibn Fodiyo

 

• Fiqh,tasawwuf and seerah

Tawheed and fiqh

Tadhib and seerah.

Seerah: Ta’leemu An’Naam by Abdullahi Dan Fodiyo

• Language department

They must complete Arabic 101 and 102.

 

• Quranic studies

The student must memorize the Fatihah and the last hizb of Quran. (From Surah Ala'a to Surah nas)

 

This curriculum is designed for the beginner whether new Shahadah or old Shahadah looking for a new beginning.

 

This curriculum will mark an epoch development in American Islamic development.

 

The curriculum educates the students with introductory sciences in the following subjects of;

Belief,fiqh,seerah(history),language, Hadith  and Quran along with its memorization.

 

This prepares the student to establish a better relationship with Allah while preparing the student for more advanced sciences.
